T&L Presentations & Zoom Events General Information

Teaching and Learning staff often present updates on their work at PLSD Board of Education meetings. These presentations are followed up with a Zoom virtual event, typically the Wednesday following each board meeting, from 6-7pm. The public is invited and encouraged to join these Zoom events to ask questions about the initiatives and updates shared during the T&L presentations to the board. Special Education

At the May 23, 2022 Board of Education meeting, Kristina Hulse, Executive Director of Student Services, will share a detailed presentation highlighting the work of the district’s special education initiatives during the 2021-22 school year. As part of the presentation, Ms. Hulse will also invite the public to attend a follow-up Zoom discussion, which is an extension of her presentation to the board. The Zoom discussion provides an opportunity for the parents, students and the public to ask Ms. Hulse any questions they may have about PLSD’s special education initiatives. Prevention & Intervention Update

At the April 25, 2022 Board of Education meeting, Dr. Cathy Ely, PLSD’s Executive Director of Prevention and Intervention Services, shared a detailed presentation which highlighted the accomplishments of the district’s prevention and wellness initiatives during the 2021-22 school year. Diversity and Inclusion Update

At the April 11, 2022 Board of Education meeting, Dr. Michael Jackson, PLSD’s Director of Diversity and Engagement, shared a detailed presentation which highlighted the accomplishments of the district’s diversity and engagement initiatives during the 2021-22 school year. As part of the presentation, Dr. Jackson also invited the public to attend a follow-up Zoom discussion on April 13, which is an extension of his presentation to the board. The Zoom discussion provides an opportunity for the parents, students and the public to ask Dr. Jackson any questions they may have about PLSD’s diversity and engagement initiatives. Summer Programming

At the March 28, 2022 Board of Education meeting, Alesia Gillison, Chief Academic Officer/Asst. Supt., and Jim Campbell, Lead Asst. State Report Card

At the November 22, 2021 Board of Education meeting, Alesia Gillison, Chief Academic Officer/Asst. Supt., shared a presentation about PLSD’s progress as detailed in the 2020-21 school year state report card. She discussed the indicators met, graduation rate, next steps, and more. College Credit Plus (CCP) & Workforce Pathways

At the October 25, 2021 Board of Education meeting, Dean Sabetta, PLSD’s College Credit Plus Advisor, shared a detailed presentation which explained the College Credit Plus program and its benefits for students, eligibility requirements, and course offerings during the 2021-22 school year.

Immediately following Mr. Sabetta’s presentation, Jim Campbell, Lead Asst. Principal at Pickerington High School North, shared details about the district’s partnership with the Fairfield County Workforce Development Center Program and how it benefits students.
