Start/End Time Communication Listening Session #2 SUMMARY
Pickerington Local School District Start/End Time Communication - October 24 Listening Session #2 SUMMARY
As we continue to gather feedback on potential changes to school start and end times, Pickerington Local Schools held its Second Listening Session on October 24 at Harmon Middle School.
- RAMA Consulting began with a brief presentation about the key themes that emerged from the first listening session and a comparison of schedules across multiple Central Ohio school districts.
- RAMA then asked the group to begin to think about our community goals for this schedule change. Because a schedule shift impacts so many aspects of our lives, it is important to determine our top priorities for this decision.
- RAMA shared seven (7) priority areas and goal statements that were developed from feedback received throughout this process.
Listening session participants then broke out into small groups and rotated between priority “stations”, discussing their opinions and concerns about what each goal meant for our community. After lively discussions, each participant “voted” for the priorities they felt should be the primary drivers of this decision. You can view the comments from participants on October 24 and watch the presentation video here.
We invite those who were unable to attend the session to provide their input by completing our online feedback form. You’ll have the chance to review our goals, share your thoughts, and rate the importance of each goal as it relates to the district’s scheduling needs.
Please join us for our third, and final, Listening Session on December 10th @ 6:00 p.m., at Toll Gate Middle School, 12089 Toll Gate Road N.W.
Stay tuned for more updates!
