An Exciting Day of Show and Advocacy for Our PLSD BioMed Students
February 5, 2025, Columbus, OH - As part of the 2025 Legislative Advocacy Day, BioMed students from Pickerington High School Central and North along with teacher Andy Harris, were invited to participate and share their work at the 2025 Ohio Association for Career Technical Education (ACTE) Student Showcase hosted at the Ohio State House. The ACTE Student Showcase promoted Career and Technical Education (CTE) by demonstrating its value in preparing students for the workforce through hands-on, real-world skills.
Students showcased their successful projects, had the opportunity to interact with policymakers, and helped build support for CTE funding initiatives. The showcase also raised awareness about the range of CTE programs, career paths, and the role they play in workforce development by engaging the public, legislators, and local businesses. Opportunities like this are critical to ensuring policymakers and stakeholders in our state capital understand the vital role of CTE in Ohio, how we are harnessing innovation and real-world, hands-on education, and how we are preparing our students to be Next Ready. Way to go! #PLSDProud #BeLegendary
