We're Opening a School-Based Health Clinic at Tussing Elementary! 🙌

Pickerington Schools to Host Ribbon-Cutting for New School-Based Health Clinic

REYNOLDSBURG, Ohio [August 7, 2023] — Pickerington Schools is excited to announce the opening of the Tussing Elementary Clinic. Located within Tussing Elementary at 7117 Tussing Road, the clinic will provide well-child, pediatric sick care and pediatric behavioral health services to students and community members. The ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for August 14, 2023 and will include guided tours of the facility beginning at 2 p.m., followed by the ribbon-cutting at 3:15 p.m. The event will feature representatives from Pickerington Schools, OhioGuidestone and Pediatric Associates, along with the presence of local and state elected officials. The public is invited to participate in this occasion.

The Tussing Elementary Clinic is a collaborative effort of Pickerington Schools, Pediatric Associates and OhioGuidestone, aimed at addressing the diverse health needs of our community. This clinic will provide both well-child and sick care, ensuring that students and community children have access to medical services conveniently located within the school premises. School-based behavioral health services will be provided by OhioGuidestone.

OhioGuidestone is a current partner in providing school-based behavioral health services through Pickerington Schools. The Tussing Elementary Clinic marks an expansion in scope and type of services now available to Pickerington Schools’ students. Amanda Wattenberg, Vice President of Regional Operations, Central Region, stated, “OhioGuidestone is very excited to expand our relationship with Pickerington Schools and partner with Pediatric Associates to treat the needs of the students and families through the new school-based health clinic at Tussing Elementary.”

Pediatric Associates hopes to support the health and well-being of all of the children in the Pickerington area by providing easy access to medical care. “The Tussing Elementary Clinic provides us the opportunity to interact with the community, build lasting relationships, and provide care to those who may have barriers to attending traditional in-office appointments,” said Teri Persinger, Executive Director of Pediatric Associates. “We will be able to help kids manage long term issues such as diabetes, asthma, and ADHD and also provide early interventions and disease prevention by offering comprehensive well visits and vaccinations.”

Dr. Nicholas Stevens of Pediatric Associates will serve as Chief Medical Officer of the clinic.
