Pickerington Local Schools' Fairfield Elementary Earns Prestigious Statewide Honors
Principal Stacy Tennenbaum Named OAESA 2025 Principal of the Year, School Recognized as Hall of Fame School
April 10, 2025, Pickerington, OH - The Pickerington Local School District is proud to announce that Fairfield Elementary School has received two prestigious recognitions from the Ohio Association of Elementary School Administrators (OAESA). Principal Stacy Tennenbaum has been named the 2025 OAESA Ohio Principal of the Year, and Fairfield Elementary has been selected as a 2025 OAESA Hall of Fame School.
Principal of the Year Stacy Tennenbaum, a dedicated leader at Fairfield Elementary since 2022, was nominated and selected by fellow principals through a competitive statewide search conducted by OAESA.
“Ms. Tennenbaum was chosen based on her outstanding leadership, commitment to student success, and dedication to building strong community ties,” said Dr. Becky Hornberger, OAESA Executive Director.
Ms. Tennenbaum’s impactful leadership has fostered an environment where academic and social needs are prioritized, and community engagement thrives. During her 31 years with Pickerington Local School District, she has served as both a teacher and administrator, demonstrating unwavering dedication to education and student success.
Fairfield Elementary has also been named a 2025 OAESA Hall of Fame School, recognizing its exceptional efforts to engage faculty, students, and the community in creating an outstanding educational environment. The school staff submitted a detailed application demonstrating the effectiveness of its educational programs across various areas.
Hall of Fame Schools are selected by OAESA committees for exemplifying excellence in education, and Fairfield Elementary stands as a model of what strong school communities can achieve together.
Ms. Tennenbaum and Fairfield Elementary will be honored during OAESA’s awards celebration on June 16, 2025, at the Hilton Easton in Columbus, Ohio.
"These recognitions unite us in a shared sense of accomplishment," said Principal Stacy Tennenbaum. "They reflect the incredible community we’ve built and inspire us to look ahead to an even brighter future, together. Being named OAESA Principal of the Year is a profound honor. It’s an opportunity to pause and reflect on the impact of my leadership—not just in numbers, but in the growth, smiles, and sense of belonging at Fairfield Elementary. Knowing that our collective efforts are being recognized strengthens my commitment to educational leadership and fills me with immense pride. The OAESA Hall of Fame recognition affirms the heart and soul that Fairfield staff, students, and families pour into our school every day. It acknowledges the hard work and dedication of our staff, showing them that their efforts are valued and are making a real difference in the lives of children and families. It’s a shared achievement that reinforces pride and purpose in being part of Fairfield Elementary and reassures families that their children are nurtured, educated, and cared for."
The Pickerington Local School District is honored to celebrate these prestigious recognitions, which reflect the exceptional leadership of Ms. Tennenbaum and the collective efforts of the Fairfield Elementary team.
"We are incredibly proud of Ms. Tennenbaum and the entire Fairfield Elementary team for these remarkable achievements,” said Interim Superintendent Dr. Scott J. Hunt. “Being named OAESA Principal of the Year and earning Hall of Fame School recognition highlight the unwavering dedication, leadership, and excellence that define Fairfield Elementary and our District as a whole where students thrive academically and personally."
