PLSD NEWS: Keeping Our Events Safe and Fun - Important Game Day Updates and Reminders

Hello, PLSD Community,

Thank you for helping us kick off the school year on a positive note—your teamwork made it all possible! As we gear up for another round of Friday night home football games, let’s keep that same spirit alive by ensuring a fun and safe environment for all attendees.

To prioritize safety and maintain a positive environment at our events, we are making a few adjustments to our attendance policies:

  • 7th through 12th grade students who would like to attend a Pickerington Local School District sporting event will now be required to present a valid school ID and their admission ticket. This ensures that only current students attend and helps us manage safety inside the stadium.

  • A parent or guardian must accompany K-8 students to and during the event. Unaccompanied K-8 students will not be permitted inside the stadium. This policy is in place to ensure the safety of our younger students, who need supervision in such large and public settings. Once inside, students must stay with their supervising adult, responsible for their safety and behavior.

  • Junior high football players and cheerleaders must also be supervised by a parent or guardian, even if they wear their jerseys or cheer uniforms. This adjustment is being made to ensure consistency in supervision across all attendees.

There are no exceptions to these safety protocols. Additionally, any behavior that could cause harm, including disruptive conduct, foul language, or violence, will result in immediate removal from the game and possible exclusion from future events.

We ask that all families understand that these changes are designed to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone attending our events. Your active participation and understanding are key, as we implement these changes.

Thank you for your continued support. Your safety and enjoyment are our top priorities.
