Ashley Carter, a Pickerington High School Central student, completed the Glass City Marathon in Toledo. Carter will graduate at the top of her class in May, having earned 5 scholarships for her college journey.

Pickerington, Ohio [May 19, 2023] — Ashley Carter, daughter of Pickerington High School Central art teacher, Jake Schimberg, has achieved an impressive milestone by successfully completing a marathon ahead of her upcoming graduation on May 20th. Her outstanding accomplishment showcases Ashley's unwavering dedication and determination, solidifying her reputation as a high achiever.
Ashley consistently goes above and beyond in all her pursuits and stands at the top of her class. She has been awarded 5 scholarships, including the Pickerington Schools PTO Scholarship, for her forthcoming college journey in fall 2023.
On the weekend of April 23, 2023, Ashley participated in Toledo's Glass City Marathon. Demonstrating exceptional resilience and tenacity, she crossed the finish line, a rare and incredible feat at her age. Notably, this is not the first time Ashley has demonstrated such endurance. In 2019, she and her twin sister, Amber Carter, embarked on a remarkable 1,500-mile bicycle journey from Tucson, Arizona to Wyoming.
Kristi Schimberg, Ashley's mother, commended her daughter's achievements, stating, "She is a young woman who is an overachiever and goes the 'extra mile' in everything she does. There are not many 18-year-olds that have accomplished such amazing acts of courage, strength and pure will-power."
