2024 Summer School Opportunities - INVITE ONLY

Pickerington Local Schools will be offering credit recovery for current high school students, grades 9 - 12, starting June 3 - June 28, 2024.  There will be no summer school on June 19, 2023. Your student qualifies for the program because he/she is at-risk of not earning credit for one or more of the following core courses:  Math, English, Social Studies, Biology or Integrated Science.  

The 2024 PLSD summer credit recovery program will be a four-week blended learning program, which will be held at Lakeview Junior High School.  Students will be provided round-trip transportation from their closest school building (Fairfield, Toll Gate, Tussing, Harmon, Taylor Road Area, Heritage, Pickerington, Sycamore Creek, Diley and Ridgeview).

Students will participate in the learning process Monday - Friday from 9:00 am - 12:30 pm. The expectation will be that each student completes a minimum of 4 assignments each day which will keep all students on track to complete their enrolled class. (Course enrollment(s) will be done by the student’s counselor and administrator).  Each parent/guardian and student will receive a weekly progress report which will clearly illustrate the academic progress. Students who are consistently not meeting expectations will be removed from the program.  

The 2024 PLSD summer school credit recovery program will be free of charge. Students will be initially enrolled in one class, if the course is completed with enough time to complete a second course, we will extend the opportunity for an additional course.  The program will utilize current PLSD teaching staff members who are focused on providing students a learning experience in which all students will have the opportunity to recover credit and stay on track for graduation.
