Lori Vance

I am excited to say that I have been teaching with the Pickerington Local School District for the past 21 years. What a wonderful blessing to say that I enjoy coming to work everyday and being involved in the development of young minds, young people. I have not only been established as a teacher in the community, but I am also a member living in the community as a parent to 3 beautiful children that attend the Pickerington Schools. My children, Nate (17 Senior), Steven (Sophomore), and Evelyn (8th grade) are the love of my life. I enjoy focusing on my children as they are involved in the wonderful opportunities provided through athletics, academics and also the arts.

Education

I was raised in the area and graduated from our neighboring Bloom-Carroll High School. I attended Capital University for a Bachelors in Music Education K-12 Vocal and Instrumental. There I was involved in their Choral Union Vocal Choir and played French Horn in the Capital University Wind Symphony. I graduated from Capital University and obtained my first teaching position with the Pickerington Local Schools at the Secondary level. I was involved at the only junior high and high school at that time in the the Vocal Program and was an Assistant to the Marching Band. When the buildings split I moved to North and Lakeview helping to establish those programs on that side of the district. During this time, I obtained my Masters in Administration through the University of Dayton. I am an active member of the Ohio Music Education Association where I continue to develop professionally. I attend workshops and clinics for a personal opportunity for continually developing ideas for my students. The vocal groups of Pickerington have also had the opportunity to be demonstration groups and performance groups for other educators across the state of Ohio under my direction. They have been invited to these conventions with a respected reputation. I am a licensed adjudicator that gets invited to other districts to give my experience to their groups under Large Group Adjudicated Events and Solo and Ensemble Events.
