Letter From the Principal

Welcome to Pickerington Elementary School and another year of learning and growing for your children.  I am delighted to be your principal and am thankful for the wonderful students, staff and families that make Pickerington Elementary such a great place to learn and grow. Being the principal here is especially meaningful to me as my daughters attended Pickerington Elementary and graduated from Pickerington High School Central.

I have been both an elementary and middle school administrator for Pickerington Schools, serving students, staff and parents at several schools before becoming the principal here in the summer of 2009.

One of the reasons this is such an excellent school is because of the partnership our staff has with families.  If you ever need to reach any of us, please call the school at 614-548-1400. You may also email me at melissa_moriarty@plsd.us. Thank you for entrusting the safety, care, and education of your child to us!

From Our PTO: Welcome and Volunteer Opportunities

Dear Parents and Families,

The Pickerington Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) would like to welcome you to our official web page. For those of you who are unfamiliar with us or new to our school, we are a volunteer organization made up of parents, teachers, administrators, and support staff who are all dedicated to the successful education of our children. The Pickerington Elementary PTO works hard to help make the school year both enjoyable and exciting for students, teachers, and parents.

The PES PTO would like to extend a warm welcome to all new and returning families to the 2017-2018 school year. Working together we can truly make a difference at Pickerington Elementary. Every positive imprint we make on our children can go a long way. If you are able to give some time to help co-chair an event or volunteer in the school, please join us! Many hands make the job easier! We will send home a PTO packet with the children at the beginning of the school year, where you will get the opportunity to join our PTO and sign up to volunteer for certain committees. In addition, the PTO will meet on the third Wednesday of each month at 7 pm at our school. We invite and encourage you to attend as the school and PTO will benefit from hearing your ideas, and you will be better informed about all the past and upcoming events at the school.

Some of the past events our PTO has made possible are our Back to School Ice Cream event, STEM day, Father/Daughter fun night, Mother/Son Bowling, Movie Nights, Book Fairs, field trips, and Super Games to name a few. The PTO also provides funding to the teachers and other staff members to enhance their learning curriculum.

We in the PTO believe that it is the ultimate importance that we do everything we can to enhance the learning environment of our children as they truly are our future. It will take all of us working together to ensure that this happens.

We look forward to getting to know you!
