VLA 2021-22 Timeline image

During the March 1 PLSD Board of Education meeting, Brian Seymour, Director of Instructional Technology, presented the District’s basic outline of what the Virtual Learning Academy (VLA) may look like for the 2021-22 school year. The outline includes a timeline for implementation of tasks, which include examining the effectiveness of 2020-21 VLA and identifying areas where improvements may be made. The final details and instructional plan will be released in April, at which time families will be offered the opportunity to enroll in the VLA for the 2021-22 school year.

As part of this process, PLSD is holding a VLA Educator Summit in March to get detailed feedback from teachers on what instructional models and strategies were positively impactful. And, over the summer, after VLA staff are selected, educators will train for the launch of the improved VLA in August.
