The public is invited to attend Pickerington Schools’ inaugural “College and Career Symposium” from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, in the Pickerington High School Central Fieldhouse.

Senior English students from both Pickerington High School Central and Pickerington High School North have been working hard to create digital portfolios and updated resumes to present to the community at large! The community is invited to tour the event, talk to our students, view their presentations and portfolios, and offer advice about future college and career opportunities.

“We hope to have attendees from colleges, local businesses, service organizations, and anyone else who would like to support these young people, to engage with the students in a ‘fair-like’ format,” said ELA instructional Coach Maggie Kanzigg. “Attendees can walk around at the event and hear students’ plans for their futures. College reps might find a great candidate for their institution, businesses might find students seeking part-time employment or experience through an internship, military branches might find motivated recruits, and service organizations might find passionate participants!”

Whether you’re looking to recruit a young person or not, this is a great opportunity to show our students that the community cares about them and what they’re doing with their futures, Kanzigg said.

“We want as many people as possible to show up to support them by listening, engaging in meaningful conversations, and just taking the time to show them that they matter,” she said.
