PLSD Board of Education Backs Community Turf Project

The PLSD Board of Education recently passed a resolution endorsing the Pickerington Community Turf Committee, along with the creation of the Capital Projects Turf Fund.

The Turf Committee‘s goal is to raise $2,250,000 to pay for the purchase and installation of turf at both Pickerington High School Central’s Tiger Stadium and Pickerington High School North’s Panther Stadium.

The committee, comprised of half Pickerington Central and half Pickerington North representatives, will solicit donations from local businesses for the project and will not stop until they’ve raised enough money to turf both fields. Committee members say turf, as opposed to grass, will dramatically increase durability as well as the safety of athletes and band members.

The board also authorized Treasurer Ryan Jenkins and Business Manager Vince Utterback to execute sponsorship and employee contribution agreements.
