Important Information About School Fees & Fee Refunds

The following is an important announcement about fees and potential fee refunds.

Curricular Fees and Device Insurance Premiums

  • Students in grades 5-12 have had Chromebooks at home with them during the building closure. Instruction is occurring remotely and classes are being completed in a remote or alternative setting; therefore, no refunds will be given for curricular fees and/or Device Insurance Premiums. However, because students in grades K-4 did not have their devices at home with them during the building closure that occurred during the last nine weeks of the 2019-2020 school year, Device Insurance Premiums for the K-4 devices will be $30 during the 2020-2021 school year (25% discount).

Preschool Fees for Typical Students

  • Typical students who remain enrolled in preschool classes are receiving instruction remotely/virtually or in an alternative setting.
  • Tuition (preschool fees) will continue to be assessed as long as the student stays enrolled.
  • Typical students who withdraw from preschool classes will no longer be charged preschool tuition as of the withdrawal effective date.
  • Refunds will be processed per the effective date of withdrawal.
  • Preschool fees/tuition refunds will not be issued retroactively to March 16, 2020 (the date school closure began per the Governor’s Executive Order).
  • All refunds provided will be net refunds — that is, refunds will be applied to any/all outstanding fees still on the student’s account prior to refunds being issued to parents.
  • If the parent/guardian paid with a credit card or e-check using the IC Portal, the full refund will be credited back to that same card or checking account — Please allow 5-7 business days for the credit to hit. All refunds for credit card and/or e-check payments will be full refunds; However,
  • If there are additional fees on the student account, any surplus balances will be used to pay those fees before any refund is issued. In these instances, the only option we have is to issue a physical refund check. Net refund checks will be processed at the end of the month.

AP Testing Fees

  • Students who wish to cancel or not take an AP Exam online do not need to do anything special to cancel. They may simply not show (not take) their digital exam. Signing into your exam for any reason will be considered as taking it. College Board will record your answers and communicate exam completion to the school.  Find more information on our AP Testing Update news page.
