Friday’s Central/North Football Game Moving to Gahanna Lincoln HS

North and Central football players on scrimmage line

Updates: Based on some of the questions asked, we wanted to provide some basic updates to this change of venue.

  • Those attending are asked to not arrive at Gahanna Lincoln High School before 4:30 p.m. Friday. Gahanna has school and afterschool activities of their own Friday. Gates will open at 5 p.m.
  • All tickets and season passes already sold will be honored in the same way they would have been at Central.  The same is the case for Central student discounts.
  • The game is not being televised. It will be broadcast on Refreshing 90.9 FM radio, Lancaster.
  • Some have asked if there will continue to be a North/Central game when our teams are placed in different divisions in 2020. Our current understanding is that this cross-town game will continue to be played moving forward.

Due to poor field conditions, our high school athletic departments have decided to move this Friday’s football game between Central and North to the field at Gahanna Lincoln High School.

This determination was made because greater than normal rain this season has resulted in significant damage to the field at Pickerington High School Central, where the game had been scheduled.

Approximately 7,000 tickets will be available. Both schools will offer presale tickets during normal office hours beginning Monday, Oct. 8, at 7 a.m. until Thursday, Oct. 11, at 3 p.m. Tickets also will be available Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at PHSC at the volleyball game.

In addition, 1,500 tickets will be sold online on the district online box office starting on Monday. Reserve seating is available at Central during presale only; reserve seating will not be available online.

Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for students and senior citizens. Passes will not be honored when seating capacity is full. Staff ID badge will admit the employee. If tickets are sold out, the badge will not be honored. Pickerington North athletic passes will not be honored for admission.

We will not allow face painting or masks. In addition, large bags and backpacks will not be permitted. Bags will be checked at entrance of stadium. Ticket sales will be ended in the fourth quarter, at which time no one will be admitted to the stadium. If a sellout occurs, both visitors and home tickets will stop and there will be no additional entry into the stadium.

Gates open at 5:00 pm. Re-entry is not permitted into the stadium.
