Sending Our Deepest Condolences To Christian Scott’s Family

Christian Scott

We are deeply saddened to share that incoming Pickerington High School North 10th grade student Christian Scott passed away last night as the result of an accidental drowning. Christian’s family says he fought hard for three days at Nationwide Children’s Hospital after the tragic accident occurred on Sunday, July 24th.

Christian provided a positive influence in our school and was well-known for his athletic excellence as a member of the varsity football and basketball teams. Our hearts go out to his family, friends, and our community.

We understand that students and staff will be affected by the loss of Christian in different ways. People often experience grief reactions in “waves” that come and go. Often, grief is most intense soon after someone has died. But some people will not feel grief right away. They may feel numbness, shock, or disbelief. It can take time to experience the reality of grief and loss. If you are grieving, it can help to express your feelings and get support, making sure to take care of yourself.

For students and staff that need additional support, we will have high school and junior high school counselors, as well as Grace Ministries at both Lakeview Junior High and Pickerington High School North tomorrow from 8am-3pm. Counselors will also be on hand Friday, if needed, as well.

If you would like to help Christian’s family during this difficult time or donate in his honor, the family has set up a GoFundMe page
