Heritage Elementary PTO

Dear Families –

As the newly elected Heritage Elementary Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) President, I would like to welcome back our returning students and families and also extend a very heartfelt welcome to our new HES families! The PTO board looks forward to getting to know all of you and to making 2017-2018 a fun and productive year.

For those who may be unfamiliar, here are some key things to know about the Heritage PTO:

  • Purpose – The purpose of our organization is to provide funds, programs, resources and services that will enrich and maximize the education of every Heritage Elementary student. We aim to promote open communication between administration, teachers and parents, while strengthening HES school spirit and pride.  The PTO uses its resources, both manpower and monetary, to support the efforts of the staff of our school while providing fun and educational experiences for our students.

  • Membership – All parents and guardians of children attending Heritage Elementary, as well as all members of the Heritage staff, are automatically considered members of the Parent Teacher Organization – no sign up required!

  • Meetings – The PTO meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month from 7pm-8pm in the Staff Lounge. Updates to meeting times and topics will be posted to the Heritage PTO Facebook page in the days leading up to each meeting date. Children and new faces are always welcome!

  • Events – The PTO sponsors several fun and educational events throughout the year, like the Fall Harvest Festival, Chat-n-Chew, Fun Day, Mother / Son and Father / Daughter events, field trips, and many more. Information on upcoming events can be found on the PTO Facebook Page as well as on the PTO Website.

  • Volunteering – PTO-sponsored efforts can’t happen without the time, talents and treasures of our volunteers. Volunteering doesn’t have to be a huge time or energy commitment – whatever your availability or interests, we have something for you! Please visit the PTO Website to learn more about available opportunities and/or to sign up.

Thank you in advance for your participation and support – getting involved is truly a great way to meet other parents, learn what is happening at the school, and play an active role in your child’s education.

Here’s to a fabulous 2017-2018 school year – please contact us any time with thoughts and suggestions!
