Leanne Ross

I am a Mom, wife, teacher and advocate for my students.  I love
working with children and helping them grow and learn.  I truly believe teaching is the perfect
fit for my skills and abilities.  My classroom is student focused, and my
goal is simply to reach and teach all of my students.  I believe in
rigorous and relevant challenges for my students and will work to stretch their thinking to higher and more critical levels.  I completely believe that my personality, background, philosophy and disposition is suited to helping children learn and achieve. However, despite this natural affinity, I put an enormous amount of work into my planning and instruction each day, because I realize that it is not personality but behaviors that can truly help these precious resources grow. I am constantly working to improve my craft through reading, research, attending conferences, collaborating with my peers and taking classes. Life long and continues learning are as much my nature as breathing and eating (although given the choice of a good book or some yummy chocolate I would waiver back and forth). When I am not in my classroom I enjoy spending time with my three daughters who all attend school here in Pickerington, working in my perennial garden, reading and baking.

I Believe...

That success is a journey.
That a positive attitude breeds positive energy.
That our lives are brightened by children.
That we should give people more than they expect.
That change is good, even when it is challenging.
That we must strive to do the right things right.
That learning to use technology enables us to learn via technology.
That all children are geniuses in their own ways.
That patriotism is the duty of every American.
That learning is a lifelong process.
That others should be treated as we want to be treated.
That diversity adds richness to life.
That the best role models for children are the ones who are part of their daily lives.
That we must take care of the Earth and all its creatures.
That we should have generous hearts and empathetic souls.
That leadership is transformational.
That through teamwork and collaboration we can achieve so much more than an individual can even imagine.
That our spirit is left on the souls of all those we touch.
