Jenny Nihiser

My name is Jenny Nihiser, and I am an Intervention Specialist at Harmon Middle School. I attended Ohio University, and received a B.S. in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor in Communication Studies as well as a M.Ed. as an Intervention Specialist: Mild to Moderate with Reading Endorsement. I attended Ashland University for certification and training in Orton-Gillingham, a multisensory approach to teach basic reading skills. I am certified to teach reading using Orton-Gillingham techniques through IMSLEC and ALTA.

Teaching is my passion and is a unique tool to inspire, entertain, and grow others. Although my primary objective is to teach our standards of learning, it is also to instill the concept of choice. In the words of Dumbledore, "It is our choices that show us what we truly are, far more than our abilities." I hope to continue to grow as an educator with the brilliant minds at Pickerington Local Schools and their choices for their future.
