Jamie McGinnis

Hello. My name is Jamie McGinnis. Originally, I am from Steubenville, Ohio (just 35 miles west of Pittsburgh, PA). I am married to my high school sweetheart and have been with him for 15 years (8 years married). My husband, Ben, is also a Computer Science Teacher and is the Director of Instructional Technology at Saint Francis DeSales High School in Columbus. We have two sons (Liam, 4 1/2 and Luca, 1), and they are our world. We also have three miniature Dachshund dogs. We live in Pickerington and love being a part of this amazing community!

I graduated from The Ohio State University in 2009 with a Bachelor's in Science particularly in Human Development and Family Sciences focusing on Middle Childhood Education. I pursued a Master's Degree from The Ohio State University in March 2012 in Education. I did my student teaching experience at Harmon Middle School (which is when I fell in love with the school) in 6th grade. This is my 7th year teaching here.

I have always had a passion for teaching adolescents since I can remember. When I went to college, I grew to love the theories, history, and methods behind education. Now, I have become an advocate for my profession and hope to instill and empower my students to love to learn as I have.

I’m a Mac. Anything that has to do with Apple, I probably own one. I even named my three dogs after Apple (CAMi-- iMac backwards, Mac, and Safari).

I am very excited to teach 6th grade ELA and Social Studies this year!

Pickerington is an amazing place to be, and I feel privileged to be a part of this pride-filled community. If you ever have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact me.

Go Bucks!
