Eric Mialky

Welcome to Toll Gate Elementary! My name is Eric Mialky, and I will be your child’s 4th grade math and science teacher during the 2020-2021 school year. I feel privileged to be teaching in such a wonderful and active school community which places academics as a top priority. Together as a unified team, I am optimistic that we will have a rewarding school year filled with many success stories.

I thought it would be beneficial to briefly provide you with some general information about who I am. For the past twenty-one years, I have instructed students in Pickerington, Columbus, and in Fairfax County, Virginia. I received my Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Pittsburgh. Throughout the school year, it will not be uncommon for you to see me running a soccer camp, organizing a chess tournament, coaching a team, running math enrichment classes, or coming to cheer on your child in various extra-curricular activities. I am blessed to have a beautiful wife and 3 amazing children (Anna: age 18, Clare: age 15, and Emma: age 13).

Consistent communication among parents, students, and teachers is a high priority of mine. Throughout this year, I will periodically distribute a classroom newsletter and/or email alerts which will contain valuable updates as to what is occurring in our classroom. Mrs. Starkey (your child’s L.A. and S.S. teacher) and I have created a classroom web page which provides information such as rules and expectations for the year, teacher contact information, calendar of events, and various educational web links.
