Amy Jarrell

I have had the great opportunity to work in the Pickerington Local School District for my entire career! My first ten years were spent as a first grade teacher at Fairfield Elementary. In 2016, I stepped into the role as a Response to Intervention (RtI) Teacher. This change in position allowed me to work directly with students struggling with reading and math skills. I have spent time expanding my own personal learning by focusing on Orton Gillingham reading and hands on math strategies. I love having a chance to work with students in kindergarten through fourth grade as well as
grade level teachers.

Education

I graduated from Pickerington High School in 2000. I attended Wright State University and earned my Bachelor in Education in Early Childhood. After I began teaching, I realized the importance of teaching student how to read. I enrolled at Marygrove College to pursue my Masters in Education specializing in Reading and Literacy. I have been fortunate to attend numerous Orton Gillingham trainings and I am working to become OG certified.
