Rebecca Barko

Rebecca Barko is thrilled to be working with the young musicians in Pickerington Local Schools! Previously, she taught 6-8th grade orchestra in Brunswick City Schools for nine years before relocating to the Columbus area. Mrs. Barko has enjoyed working with orchestra students at Harmon and Lakeview since 2018.


A cellist, Mrs. Barko received her degree in Music Education from Baldwin Wallace University Conservatory of Music. She earned her Masters of Music at the University of Akron. Mrs. Barko has studied cello performance and chamber music with Regina Mushabac, Merry Peckham and Paul Kushious. Mrs. Barko has studied violin pedagogy and performance with Cory Smith.

Additional Information

Mrs. Barko is married; in her spare time she enjoys yoga, gardening, and paper crafting. Mrs. Barko enjoys learning to play the jazz mandolin and playing with her cat Leela.
