Damicka Bates

The 2019-2020 school year will be my first year serving as Assistant Principal at Tussing Elementary. I am extremely excited to begin my leadership journey at Tussing and look forward to sharing my passion for educating our youth. I strongly believe that any student can THRIVE in an environment that is Safe, Caring, Fair & Equitable, Fun, Engaging, and gives Skills that provide rewarding and successful opportunities in life.

I began my teaching career in Columbus City schools in 2010. In 2015, I transitioned to Pickerington where I taught 5th grade Math at Diley Middle and Harmon Middle Schools. During this time, I was fortunate enough to build and sustain many new relationships with teachers, students, families and community members of Pickerington. As a new educational leader, I am looking forward to continuing those relationships and creating new relationships while working toward the common goal of student academic success.
