Maria L. Perez

My name is Maria Luisa Perez. My close friends and family call me "Licha". I have been in Education for over 25 years. I worked in Illionis for four of those years. I have been in the Pickerington Local School District for 24 in the High School Central building. I taught Spanish for 14 years and I am currently in my 10th year as a School Counselor.

I am starting my first year coaching girls soccer for the mighty Tigers!

I believe in making my only life a positive experience. Always having professional goals and personal goals. I am passionate about what I do. I like to live with a purpose and inspire my family, friends, colleagues, and my students. My main objective is to be able to influence and guide my students to reach their full potential, their goals, and to inspire them to enjoy life and be successful!

I was born in Mexico and came here when I was 15 in September of 1980. I am the 3rd of 9 children. I have four children. Two have graduated from Pickerington High School Central. I have two daughters that attend PHSC. One is a junior and the younger one a Freshman.

I love to do all kinds of sports and activities-running, playing soccer, golf, volleyball, and over all healthy living. I have ran 8 marathons, over 10 half marathons, did the tough mudder in 2014, have been playing soccer for over 40 years, and compete in the Arnold Pump and Run. I have coached soccer and cross country.

I love the Pickerington Community and I look forward to working with all of you!
