90-Day Non-Resident Waiver

  • Under State of Ohio law and Pickerington Schools board of education policy, Pickerington Schools grants a period of 90 calendar days for you to physically move into the district. If you are moving into the district, but have not yet completed the purchase of your home located in this district, you may enroll your student in Pickerington Schools under the 90-Day Non-Resident Waiver. You must have a signed purchase agreement or contract showing you are purchasing a home in the district (rental agreements do not apply for this situation; purchase only).

60-Day Temporary Custody Waiver

  • As provided for in State of Ohio law and covered in board of education policy, Pickerington Schools works with parents to get their children enrolled in school, in all cases possible. If you live in the district and are obtaining custody, residential rights, or legal guardianship, you may be able to enroll your student in Pickerington Schools prior to finalizing the change by completing the 60-Day Temporary Custody Waiver. Pickerington Schools grants a period of 60 calendar days for parents to obtain the final, judge-signed document that legalizes the change in custody, residential rights, or legal guardianship.

    To enroll your student in Pickerington Schools, you must show:

    1. a motion that has been filed and date-stamped by the court; and
    2. a notarized statement from the parent or guardian who currently has the right to enroll the student in school, stating that:a
      • he/she (by name) understands that you (by name) are in the process of changing the legal school placement parent for the child (by name) through the court; and
      • he/she understands you are enrolling the child in Pickerington Schools; and
      • full current address and phone numbers where he/she can be reached for verification; and
      • a legible copy of a driver’s license or state identification card with photo belonging to the parent or guardian who currently has the right to enroll the student in school.
