Principal's Message

Welcome to Toll Gate Elementary where we are committed to TRANSFORM, GROW AND EDUCATE each child.

Toll Gate is one of seven elementaries in the Pickerington Local School District and is home to approximately 500 Kindergarten through fourth grade students. It is one of three newly constructed facilities in our community and is attached to Toll Gate Middle School, which houses our fifth and sixth grade students. Thanks to our community’s support these new buildings have helped us maintain an excellent educational opportunity.

We believe that education is comprised of both academic preparation and the acquisition of skills necessary to become a productive citizen. Our staff strives to deliver a curriculum that is both rigorous and relevant to our students. Our character education program strives to meet the needs of a varied school population and encourages children to work with others peacefully.

We believe that in order for a child’s education to be fully effective, we must be in partnership with our students’ families. As in any relationship, open communication, mutual respect and trust are essential in maintaining a partnership. We invite you to get involved in your child’s education by joining our PTO, becoming involved in our volunteer program, and providing the support necessary for your child’s success.

In order to promote a safe and effective school environment, the following two rules are the focus of student behavioral expectations:

  1. Respect yourself, others, and your school.
  2. Conduct yourself in a way that will not keep adults from teaching and you and others from learning.

These rules are emphasized daily on our morning announcements through a message of the day.

If you should ever have any questions or need assistance throughout the school year, please don’t hesitate to call 614-834-6300 or email me at Kristi_Motsch@plsd.us. Together we can accomplish great things for our children.

Educationally Yours,

Kristi Motsch
