PLSD Volunteers Honored at First Annual Volunteer Appreciation Celebration

Outstanding music and tables upon tables of PLSD volunteers filled the walls of the Lakeview Junior High cafeteria on the evening of March 21. Pickerington Local School District volunteers were recognized at a ceremony held in their honor. The celebration was the first of what will be an annual event to recognize the outstanding spirit of volunteerism throughout the District.

Department of Education Releases Official District Report Cards

Following a statewide delay in state report card release dates, the Pickerington Local School District is proud to announce that the District has once again officially achieved an "Excellent With Distinction" rating on the 2011-2012 state report card from the Ohio Department of Education. This is the highest state rating based on the achievement and progress of students.

Pickerington Central Student Earns Perfect ACT Score

Nicholas Stanley, senior at Pickerington High School Central, earned a top composite score of 36 on a recent ACT test. Nationally, while the actual number of students earning a composite score of 36 varies from year to year, less than one-tenth of 1 percent of students who take the ACT earn a top score. Among test takers in the high school graduating class of 2012, only 781 of more than 1.66 million students earned a composite score of 36.

Three PLSD Seniors Advance as National Merit Scholarship Program Finalists

Three Pickerington seniors advanced as National Merit Scholarship Program Finalists. This distinction places these seniors in a pool of more than 15,000 students representing less than one percent of U.S. high school graduating seniors. These talented future PLSD grads are now vying for one of 8,300 National Merit Scholarships with a combined value of more than $32 million. Winners will be announced this spring.
