Lakeview Jr High 7th Grader spent the better part of last week in Washington DC as a celebration of being selected as one of four National Military Kids of the Year. 

Outstanding music and tables upon tables of PLSD volunteers filled the walls of the Lakeview Junior High cafeteria on the evening of March 21. Pickerington Local School District volunteers were recognized at a ceremony held in their honor. The celebration was the first of what will be an annual event to recognize the outstanding spirit of volunteerism throughout the District.

Following a statewide delay in state report card release dates, the Pickerington Local School District is proud to announce that the District has once again officially achieved an "Excellent With Distinction" rating on the 2011-2012 state report card from the Ohio Department of Education. This is the highest state rating based on the achievement and progress of students.

The National Letter of Intent season is here, and Pickerington Local Schools has added to the list of student athletes pursuing sports and education at the collegiate level. The following students signed letters of intent on February 6, 2013.

Three Pickerington seniors advanced as National Merit Scholarship Program Finalists. This distinction places these seniors in a pool of more than 15,000 students representing less than one percent of U.S. high school graduating seniors. These talented future PLSD grads are now vying for one of 8,300 National Merit Scholarships with a combined value of more than $32 million. Winners will be announced this spring.
