Mark Jones
Mark Jones serves as the interim principal of Violet Elementary School.
Jones has been with the PLSD for 31 years. From 1980 to 1994, he served as a junior high earth science teacher. In addition, Mark was the Pickerington High School Varsity Soccer coach for nine years, from 1982 to 1990. He earned recognition as both the OCC and District Coach of the Year during his tenure. In 1993, Mark was named Teacher of The Year at Pickerington Junior High School.
In 1994, he became the assistant principal at Pickerington Middle School and served in that capacity for six years. When the District opened Diley Middle School in the fall of 2000, Mark was named its inaugural principal, a position he held for the next nine years. Last fall, Mark again had the honor of opening another brand new building, as he was named to be the first principal of Toll Gate Middle School.
He also serves as the State Middle School Representative on the Executive Board of the Ohio Association of Elementary School Administrators.
