Take a journey with Pickerington High School North Theater in the upcoming presentation of Pippin. The show will be at PHSN Performing Arts Center, 7800 Refugee Rd., at 7:30 p.m. April 6-8 and 2 p.m. April 9. Tickets are $12 and can be purchased by calling 614-830-2750 or visiting the Pickerington website.
“This production is packed with amazing dancers, singers, gymnasts and contortionists,” said PHSN senior Ava Fridd, who plays Fastrada, Pippin’s stepmother. “The opening number is my favorite part of the show. There is a big surprise for the audience, and that is going to set the theme for the rest of the musical.”
The production of Pippin is a story of adventure and self-discovery. Heir to the Frankish throne, the young prince Pippin is in search of the secret to true happiness and life fulfillment. He seeks it in the glories of the battlefield and trickeries of political power. In the end, though, Pippin finds that happiness lies not in extraordinary endeavors, but rather in the un-extraordinary moments that happen every day.
“This could be our best performance yet,” said PHSN junior Sean Starrett, who plays Lewis, Pippin’s stepbrother. “There will definitely be humor and jaw-dropping moments with the acrobatics and crazy tricks throughout the show. We just have a great cast and crew this year and I am excited for people to watch.”
