In order to ensure the safety of our students, the Board of Education has recently implemented new volunteer guidelines. As outlined in Board regulation IICC-REG, all prospective volunteers who have or will have unsupervised access to students on a regular basis will be subject to a background records check.
Local media has recently reported that the cost of the background check was $60. This amount reported is for both a BCI and FBI check if done through a local law enforcement office.
The District is only requiring the FBI portion of the background check. This service can be obtained through our Human Resources Department at a cost of only $25.
Prospective volunteers can continue to submit a copy of the Volunteer Application and Guidelines to their school’s office. If a background check is required, Human Resources will be in touch to schedule an appointment for further processing.
