FOOD SERVICE

Pickerington Local School District provides high quality learning environments helping each student reach their level of success. With that in mind, the mission of the Food Services Department is to provide students and staff with meals that are nutritious, appetizing, and appealing; while being all prepared in a safe and sanitary high quality environment.

Meals served at all levels meet the age-appropriate USDA requirements for a balanced meal. These requirements limit the amount of fat and saturated fat, and also determined calorie and nutrient levels. All meals are analyzed for nutrient content to assure compliance with federal regulations. School lunches provide one-third of the Recommended Dietary Allowances of protein, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, iron, calcium and calories over the course of one week of menus.

We feature many menu options for the students at all levels including chef salads, whole grain bagels, yogurt, grilled chicken patty, vegetarian patty, wraps, hamburgers and a wide variety of other foods.

All of the head and assistant central kitchen cooks passed the Serv Safe class, a nationally recognized program. This certificate is accredited by the American National Standards Institute-Conference for Food Protection and the National Restaurant Association.

Each food service employee attend an annual mandatory meeting on food safety and sanitation, food allergies and first aid training.

Middle $2.25
Junior High $2.25- other meals available at tiered pricing levels
High School $2.25- other meals available at tiered pricing levels
Breakfast $1.25 and is served at Ridgeview JHS, Diley MS, Harmon MS, Toll Gate MS, Fairfield ES, Heritage ES, Pickerington ES, and Tussing ES
