Pickerington Local Schools Maintain Excellence
The Pickerington Local School District earned the state rating of “Excellent” on the 2009-2010 Ohio Department of Education report card, along with 214 other school districts in the state. Forty-eight percent of Ohio's school districts earned a designation of "Excellent" or above based on four separate measures: State Indicators, Performance Index, Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) and Value-Added composite.

PHSC Tigers Battle in the 'Shoe

It's tiger against tiger. The Pickerington High School Central (PHSC) Tigers versus the Oscar Frommel Smith Tigers during the Kirk Herbstreit National Kickoff Classic football game held at The Ohio State University on Monday, September 6, at 4 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at PHSC from 8 -3 p.m. Adult tickets are on sale for $15. 2010-2011 Bus Route Service Restored
Bus service for the 2010-11 school year has been restored to the areas that were recently eliminated during the August 9, Board of Education meeting. This will include noon service for kindergarten students. Parents who were affected will be notified of their child's updated routes during their school's meet the teacher and back-to-school events. Those not attending will receive a notice in the mail.

Harmon MS Assistant Principal Announcement Highlights Staff Changes
During the July 12, BOE meeting, the board approved Nikki Arnold as the assistant principal of Harmon MS. Arnold was the assistant principal at Sycamore Creek ES and will join newly named Principal Lea Ann Yoakum to complete Harmon’s leadership team. These positions were created by the retirements of Gary Morrow and Sally Stewart early this year.[...more]

PLSD to Launch Rumor Mill Blog
In an effort to increase communication efforts with the community-at-large, the District has created the "PLSD Heard it Through the Grapevine" blog designed to provide a platform to ask questions, get answers and address rumors. The blog will go “live” on Monday, July 12 and can be accessed through the District website at www.pickerington.k12.oh.us.
