Hello Pickerington Families,

As the school year draws to a close, we want to provide you with important information regarding PLSD-owned devices and software. While this email contains comprehensive details, please note that certain sections are relevant only to specific grade levels.

DEVICES

IPADS

Kindergarten students are scheduled to return their iPads and accompanying accessories on May 23-24, 2024. Please ensure that your child returns the iPad, iPad case, power cord, and charging brick. Failure to return any of these items will result in a fee being placed on Infinite Campus. Upon their return in the fall, kindergarten students will be issued Chromebooks for their use.

CHROMEBOOKS

Kindergarten, first, second, third, fifth, sixth, seventh, freshmen, sophomores, and juniors will retain their Chromebooks over the summer break.

Fourth-grade, eighth-grade, and Seniors' Chromebooks and power cords will be collected on:

  • May 17: Seniors

  • May 23-24: 4th Grade

  • Lakeview May 24, Ridgeview May 23: 8th Grade

Not returning a Chromebook or power cords will incur a fee posted on Infinite Campus.

For any devices requiring minor repairs or are damaged, please return them now prior to collection.

New Chromebooks will be distributed to current fourth-grade and eighth-grade students at the beginning of the school year in the fall.

Senior Chromebook Collection: May 17

  • All seniors are required to return their Chromebooks to their respective high schools on May 17.

  • Seniors who have registered and paid for the purchase of their Chromebook may retain the device along with the power cord. Please note that we are not accepting any further sales of devices.

  • Failure to settle any outstanding fees will result in exclusion from participating in the commencement ceremony for seniors.

SENIOR GOOGLE ACCOUNTS

Senior students may wish to preserve files, projects, and portfolio items they have generated during their tenure at PLSD. Please note that senior accounts will be deactivated within the next 6 months. To safeguard their files, seniors are advised to migrate them to a personal Gmail account. Google provides an online tool to facilitate this transition. Google Takeout

SUMMER CHROMEBOOK REPAIRS

If your student's Chromebook requires repair during the summer break, the PLSD Technology Department will offer multiple drop-off dates for repairs. Please note that if you choose to drop off the device for repair, your student will not be provided with a loaner device for the remainder of the summer. The repaired device will be returned at the start of the new school year.

SOFTWARE

Students will retain access to PLSD technology programs until July 31st. These programs can accessed through ClassLink (https://launchpad.classlink.com/pickerington) on any modern browser. All students can access our programs from a personal device. Here are directions that will help students log in to ClassLink from personal devices.

HOTSPOTS

All hotspots need to be returned to the District Office by May 31st.  If your child needs access to a hotspot over the summer, please contact April Anda (april_anda@plsd.us) to make arrangements to keep the hotspot active.
